Memorial Day: A time to remember and appreciate the cost of freedom

Since Memorial Day has become more associated as the kickoff to the summer season, I had originally planned a post about the origins of the day and why it celebrated. But, as I read through my reference materials, I was more compelled to simply say this: thank you.

Thank you to the members of the US Armed Forces–and their families–who were brave and selfless and made a great sacrifice in the name of service.
